Japanese veteran right-handed pitcher Tomoyuki Sugano (34, Yomiuri Giants) is seeking to advance to the U.S. Major League Baseball (MLB).

ESPN said on the 5th (Korea Standard Time), "Sugano plans to knock on the U.S. door as a free agent this winter," adding, "It's the first re-challenge in four years since 2020."

Sugano is a franchise star who has played only in the Yomiuri Giants of Japan's professional baseball league since 2013.

In 2017 and 2018, he won the Sawamura Award, which is given to the best pitcher in the league, for two consecutive years.

After the 2020 season, he tried to advance to MLB through the posting system, but he remained in the Yomiuri without receiving a satisfactory offer to join. 먹튀검증
